Stand
Room divider
The Shoji Room Divider Stand is a great way to maximize usage of a rice paper shoji screen. This solid wood stand is designed to screw directly into the room divider. The legs of the stand hold the divider upright, eliminating the need to fold the divider to keep it up. This maximizes the coverage you can get from your divider, and makes a dramatic impact on your space. Wood finish options are subject to manufacturer availability.
The Shoji Stand fits most three and four panel dividers and is available in a range of finish colors to complement your divider and decor.

"Easy installation" - as a volunteer Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) was use the divider in our Incident Command Center. Then, as a handicapped person, right-side impaired I put the product together, on my own, in about 15 minutes without using the instructions - I'd say that was "Easy Installation.

Don't be misled by the photo. Assembling the stand and attaching the shoji screen are not simple projects. And it takes at least 2 people, one of whom needs a high-powered electric drill and some experience. (The other has to be able to hold the screen on the base while the drill bit goes through the frame of the screen.) It's made more complicated by the fact that bolts--not screws--are supplied. So the drilled holes have to line up with the nuts that are embedded in the base of the stand. And the bolts are just barely long enough. (Note: they are not long enough if you use the supplied bracket, so don't use it.) None of this is clear from the line drawing that is supplied. It's all do-able, but it's not easy. My suggestion is to realistically assess your skill level before you take on the project...

Comments about Shoji Room Divider Stand:
This divider stand was a fairy simple project to undertake. Assembled out of the box rather well but make sure to check for a proper alignment for the screw holes and the threads themselves as they could become loose inside the wood; a little wood glue seemed to help. Overall a fine product with no major problems or inconveniences.

Comments about Shoji Room Divider Stand:
These stands are exactly what I was looking for. Customer service was very friendly and efficient and answered all of my questions prior to purchasing the stands. The stands were shipped quickly and packaged well. They were very easy to assemble and everything lined up perfectly. I was able to assemble the stand with the Shoji screen in just a few minutes by myself. They are very sturdy and are perfect for making a temporary room in my basement. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend the product and company.
